John Firth (1935 - 2022) took a giant leap of faith in 1989 at the age of 54 by starting ACG Manufacturers. His production line included cutters, seamstresses, ironers, and quilters, and he initially supplied bedding and soft furnishings to retail shops. As time passed, he expanded his business to include curtains and soft furnishings for hotels, including the prestigious Table Bay Hotel in the V&A Waterfront and several resorts as well as The Protea Group countrywide. He even hired an interior decorator to assist with the domestic market and other industry decorators.

Today

We continue to offer a complete service, including consultation, measurement, manufacturing, and installation of curtains and blinds. In 1997, John's son, Richard, joined the company and since then we have continued to grow. For 34 years we have been beautifying homes, guest houses, lodges, and hotels throughout the African Continent. John's leap of faith has become an incredible legacy and we take pride in being a family-owned and family-run business. We are excited to help you transform your home, guest house, resort or hotel.
